  • 1978: Graduated Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, Department of Sculpture
  • 1980: Completed course of fine arts study, Graduate Division, Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music; Specialization: sculpture, studio of Prof. SUMIKAWA Kiichi
  • 1982: Lecturer, Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, Graduate Division, Fine arts Research Department, Conservation and Restoration Laboratory of Cultural Properties (through 1987). During this time, studied classical techniques of Buddhist statuary and ancient fine arts, also restoration techniques
  • 2004: Appointed Professor of the Conservation Division (Preservation and Restoration/Sculpture), Graduate School of Fine Arts, Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music
