Takayama Kou

Join us at SOFA New York (May 29, 2008) to see works from this artist.

Kou Takayama (高山光) started a tradition of pottery in 1962 that his generations would follow. He hardly ever explains his own pottery but all of his pieces are self explanatory — subtle yet powerful at the same time. All his life he has accomplished what he set out to do and as a result he has established unyielding presence in the world of Japanese pottery.
